Yun Fei (pseudonym), at the age of 32, had been married for eight years. Initially, due to their youth, the couple did not prioritize childbirth. However, with the urging of both sets of parents, they began trying to conceive, facing multiple failures, which added a touch of anxiety. Finally, Yun Fei and his wife went to the hospital for an examination, and the result showed that Yun Fei suffered from azoospermia. This news left the couple in shock for quite some time.
Yun Fei felt extremely disheartened upon receiving this result, and he even experienced psychological depression. In an effort to console him, Yun Fei’s wife sought information on treatment methods, but unfortunately, they learned that azoospermia could not be treated. However, along with bad news, there often comes good news. While researching treatment options, Yun Fei’s wife discovered in vitro fertilization (IVF) and was delighted to learn that sperm could be provided for the procedure. She shared this information with Yun Fei, who, feeling uplifted, immediately agreed to undergo IVF.
In China, the wait for sperm donation in IVF is very long and uncertain. Yun Fei began exploring the option of IVF in the United States. The U.S. has a large sperm bank, with approximately 99% of donors choosing to store their sperm there, offering a high degree of flexibility for those in need. Yun Fei, through our consultancy in China, contacted a hospital in the United States, selected sperm of his choice, and had it shipped directly to the IVF clinic.
After making all the necessary arrangements, Yun Fei and his wife embarked on a journey to California, USA. Through ovarian stimulation, U.S. experts retrieved 14 follicles from Yun Fei’s wife. These 14 follicles were artificially cultivated with the selected sperm, resulting in the development of 5 viable embryos. Three of them passed the preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) screening, and one high-quality male embryo was transferred into Yun Fei’s wife.
On the ninth day after the surgery, Yun Fei’s wife eagerly took a pregnancy test, and the result was, of course, positive! Medical science fulfilled the couple’s dream. The path to happiness is not always smooth, but with strong courage, one can achieve their desires. We are willing to witness together: everything is the best arrangement of God!
