Elle is a 44-year-old Taiwanese woman who has remained unmarried, dedicating her entire youth to her career. It wasn’t until one day, when she suddenly realized the passage of time and the absence of anyone by her side, that she felt a sense of regret in her previous life. With this change in mindset, she developed a desire to have her own children.

After a medical examination, it was found that Elle’s ovarian function had slightly declined. Fortunately, she could still produce healthy eggs, but the condition of her uterus was not ideal, with a serious case of endometriosis. In such a situation, the only option was to choose third-party assisted reproduction. This type of assisted reproduction is challenging to undergo in Taiwan, so Elle came to the United States and chose Dr. Wood.

With the assistance of the U.S. staff, Elle quickly selected her preferred surrogate, a 29-year-old woman who already had two daughters. The surrogate showed Elle photos of her two little angels, and Elle was extremely fond of them, expressing a strong desire to have two daughters like hers.

With Dr. Wood’s assistance, Elle retrieved six healthy egg follicles. She chose a Caucasian sperm donor and successfully cultivated two healthy embryos of baby girls. Elle accompanied the surrogate through the embryo implantation surgery and then flew back to Taiwan. Throughout the pregnancy, the surrogate and Elle maintained communication through online channels, and the surrogate’s two daughters brought endless joy to Elle through video calls. Four months later, Elle decided to fly back to the United States to visit the surrogate and specially purchased silk Qipaos from Taiwan as gifts for the surrogate’s two daughters.

On July 2, 2014, Elle arrived in the United States and went directly to the surrogate’s home. She dressed the pair of little ones in gifts brought all the way from China, symbolizing the deep friendship that has occurred among numerous Dream美 (Dream America) clients. HRC not only helps fulfill the wishes of those unable to conceive but also builds a strong bridge for Sino-U.S. friendship.
