In the ovarian stimulation process, after about 5 days of medication, many women notice increased vaginal discharge. This discharge often has a clear, egg-white-like consistency and can be stretched, leading some to worry that it signals egg release. Rest assured, this is not the case!
Egg-white cervical mucus is primarily composed of secretions from cervical gland cells, which are regulated by estrogen. During ovarian stimulation, the number of growing follicles is significantly higher than in a natural cycle, resulting in increased estrogen production. Consequently, cervical mucus may appear earlier and in greater quantities than usual.
This is a normal response to the stimulation process and does not indicate premature ovulation or egg release.
