Embryo transfer is the final step in the IVF process, and it often becomes a focal point of concern for everyone involved—from in-laws and parents to siblings and friends. After the procedure, some women are pampered with tea and water service, some avoid bending and either stand or lie down all day, and others tiptoe around like they’re walking on eggshells.
This anxiety is understandable, especially since even some doctors aren’t entirely clear on how long patients should rest after the transfer. As a result, different doctors may give different recommendations.
According to IVF specialists in the United States, it is advised to rest at home and stay in bed for 2–3 days following the embryo transfer.
